Just as the Israelites were about to enter the Promised Land God put a song in the heart of Moses about how they would eventually turn their back on the Lord and fall under judgment of God. Only then would God intervene and rescue them from their enemies. Good songs are often about heartaches, breakups, and makeups, and this one is no different. God told Moses and Joshua to sing this sad song to the people so they would take it to heart. Perhaps it could serve as a warning to their children so they would live in the future. Be encouraged my friend, God’s Word is not dead and idle, it is life and power, and if we take His Word to heart we will live forever in God’s Kingdom.
