When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. – Acts 4:13
Something jumped out to me in this verse this past week that I had never seen before when reading through the book of Acts. There were a group of religious and political leaders who were giving Peter and John a hard time for their ministry in the name of Jesus so they arrested them and brought them in for an interrogation. These men noticed many things about Peter and John’s life. They noticed they were unschooled men. Peter and John did not have lots of formal education. They also noticed they were ordinary men. Neither came from special stock. But more than anything else they noticed that these men had been with Jesus. Could people tell that about your life?
There are many things that people could take notice of in our lives but would they ever notice that we have been with Jesus? To get noticed for that would be the greatest recognition we could ever receive. It would also mean that our lives were making a difference for the Kingdom of God. Friend, what are you striving to be noticed for in your life? Be encouraged and live for Christ. There is no greater goal for your life.
